Good Home Cooked Yorkshire Pub Food

The Crown & Anchor uses fresh locally sourced ingredients and seasonal vegetables in a varying menu that includes some well-considered vegetarian options. Ranging from freshly cooked baguettes and bar snacks to full meals with all the trimmings, you will be sure to find something you fancy at this CAMRA commended pub.

Food is served every day except Monday, between 12 noon and 2.00pm for lunch and again from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm for dinner. Plus our Sunday roast is served between 12.30pm and 3.00pm.

Our Steak House & Grill Menu

If you love a good steak you will be in your element at the Crown & Anchor, Sowerby. Thirsk butcher, Hudson’s supplies a broad choice of cuts in quality British meat. We offer rump, sirloin, steak of the day, and fillets to order in advance – all cooked to your preference and to perfection. Barbeque chicken, local burgers, local gammon, and fresh fish (supplied by Hodgson’s of Hartlepool) are also on the menu.

On our menu you will also find many pub favourites like Scampi, Steak & Ale Pie, Ploughmans etc.

Shepherd’s Purse Handmade Yorkshire Cheese

Our cheese board is dedicated to Shepherd’s Purse handmade Yorkshire cheeses. The producers of Yorkshire Blue Cheese, Shepherd’s Purse won the unanimous vote on all cheeses tasted for selection in our local survey. You will also find some Shepherd’s Purse cheese as ingredients to some of our dishes.
