The Crown & Anchor is the only pub in the Thirsk & Sowerby area to feature in the Good Beer Guide 2012, but still remains very much a “local’s local”, which is inseparably part of its charm. The carefully selected traditional decor and ongoing entertainment lends a home from home atmosphere for the local residents and one into which passing tourists are irresistibly drawn.

At the centre of any public house is the range and quality of the drinks available. The Crown & Anchor offers six beautifully maintained real ales and is commended by the North West Yorkshire region of CAMRA.

These popular real ales, as well as an impressive selection of drinks and guest beers from our well stocked bar can be enjoyed in the relaxing and comfortable surroundings of our traditional North Yorkshire pub, which was North West Yorkshire CAMRA Pub of the year runner up in 2011.

The Crown & Anchor has featured in the GOOD BEER GUIDE since the 2009 edition and every year since.
